Overview

VA-01 Viral Blue Wave is a free, browser-based tool for creating short campaign videos. We designed it so your photos, videos, and finished exports are processed on your device whenever possible. We do not operate user accounts on our servers and we do not upload your media files to our hosting provider.

Information you provide

When you use the editor, you may upload or capture a profile picture, campaign photo, or short video clip. That media stays in your browser unless you choose to export or share it. Text you enter for on-screen messages is also kept locally while you use the tool.

Facebook sign-in (optional)

If you choose Sign in with Facebook, you are redirected to Meta to authorize access. We request permission to read your public profile and profile picture so you can import a headshot. Depending on configuration, either (a) our server exchanges the authorization code and holds a short-lived session in a secure, HttpOnly cookie — the access token never reaches your browser — or (b) Facebook returns a short-lived access token that is kept only in your browser's session storage and cleared when the browser session ends. In both cases the token is used only to fetch your profile picture from Facebook's Graph API. You can end the session by signing out or clearing site data for this website. Facebook's own privacy policy governs data Meta collects during login.

Sharing to social networks

When you share a finished video or share a link to this app, your device talks directly to Facebook, Instagram, or other apps you select through your browser or operating system share sheet. We do not receive a copy of your exported video on our servers.

What we do not collect

We do not require registration on our servers. We do not upload your source media or exported videos to our hosting infrastructure. We do not sell personal information.

Hosting and analytics

The app is delivered as static files through our web host (Vercel). Standard server logs from the host may include your IP address, browser type, and pages requested. We do not add third-party advertising trackers to this application.

Error monitoring and anonymous telemetry

To keep the app working well, we may collect error reports (via Sentry) and anonymous product telemetry, such as whether a video export succeeded or failed, how long rendering took, and a coarse device class (mobile, tablet, or desktop) and browser family. These reports never include your media, your name, or your Facebook data, and we scrub file URLs and token-like strings before anything is sent. Telemetry is not used for advertising and is not sold or shared.

Children's privacy

This tool is intended for campaign volunteers and supporters. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the revised policy.
